On 11 June 2025 from 15:00 to 16:30h CEST, SSbD4CheM is organising its first webinar for external stakeholders on the “Practical Application and Case Studies in Industrial Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD)”.
This webinar will present a number of SSbD topics with regards to its framework implementation on the SSbd4CheM project supporting industrial case studies. Implementation of integrated computational and experimental methods to industrial application will be illustrated using cosmetics case study examples.
Draft Program:
- SSbD4CheM – Advancing Safe and Sustainable by Design Practices for Chemicals and Materials, Milica Velimirovic (VITO, Belgium) – An overview of the SSbD4CheM project implementing a framework for SSbD for chemicals and materials as tested by industry case studies
- Perspective on the Application of SSbD to Cosmetics Products, Assaf Assis (AHAVA, Israel) – An industry perspective on the incorporation of SSbD into cosmetics product development and innovation
- AI-assistance in Knowledge Collection and Curation supporting SSbD workflows, Barry Hardy (Edelweiss Connect, Switzerland) – Overview of integrating knowledge infrastructure support of SSbD including AI-assistance in knowledge collection, curation and provision to SSbD workflows
- Materials Modelling supporting Hazard Profiling, Panagiotis Kolokathis (Nova Mechanics, Cyprus) – Application of Physics-based Modelling approaches to Materials Characterisation
- Materials Characterisation, Ondrej Panak (National Institute of Chemistry, Slovenia) – Application of Physical Chemical Characterisation Methods to Materials Characterisation
- Life Cycle Assessment, Nils Thonemann (University of Leiden, The Netherlands) – Incorporation of Life Cycle Assessment into product innovation supporting SSbD across the product life cycle
- Use of New Approach Methods in SSbD, Yvonne Kohl (Fraunhofer IMBT, Germany) – Incorporation of information from New Approach Methods into SSbD workflows
- Case Study Applications, Ivana Burzic (Wood K plus, Austria) and Assaf Assis (AHAVA, Israel) – Insights into challenges and results obtained from case studies
