The Horizon Europe project SSBD4CheM started on 1 January 2024. We kicked off it in person in Brussels on 11-12 January. Our coordinator, Milica Velimirovic, from VITO, did an amazing work hosting the very first meeting, ensuring enough time for presentations to get an overview of the project, for getting to know each other, for networking and for begin planning the first steps in the project.
Thanks to our Project Officer, George Kotsikos, for attending the KOM and for his suggestions and tips for the upcoming months.
Special thanks to Huber Rauscher, form EC JRC, for joining the meeting presenting the objectives of the European Commissionâs SSbD framework and introducing on the EC efforts to SSbD implementation that is relevant to the SSbD4CheM case studies.
Moreover, some of our sister projects CheMatSustain (coordinated by the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences) and CHIASMA (coordinated by LIST) joint the meeting to start discussing our collaboration as a project cluster.
The good thing of travelling is to get in touch more closely with other cultures, languages, habits and local food. This time we were able to come a bit closer to the Flemish food and culture: their delicious sandwiches, beers and chocolates!
